Football Trip: Detroit

Football trip to Detroit.

November 2012 trip to Detroit for a Lions game vs the Green Bay Packers.

This was a close game that featured a few lead changes and eventually went into overtime.  Not many pictures here as this was just a day trip from Toronto.

Football Trip: Pittsburgh

This was a road trip to Pittsburgh to watch the AFC championship game between the Pittsburgh Steelers vs the New York Jets in January of 2011.

Football Trip: Baltimore and Washington

Football trip to Washington and Baltimore

The NHL season didn't start until 2013 because of the labour dispute between the league and its players.  So instead of hockey and football, we decided to find a place where we could catch two football games.  One of the places this can be done easily is Washington and Baltimore which are about 45 mins apart by car.

The Sunday game was the Baltimore Ravens vs the Pittsburgh Steelers.  A premium game for a premium price.  And we sat right in the back!  The Monday nighter was the Washington Redskins vs the New York Giants.

Feb 3, 2013 Update:  The Baltimore Ravens won the Superbowl this year.  For the game we had gone to, the Ravens had lost to the Steeler's backup quarterback and were in the midst of a losing streak with injuries to two key defensive players.  Funny how things can turn around so quickly in the NFL.

Football Trip: Boston

Football trip to Boston

December 2011 trip to Boston.  During this trip we had the opportunity to watch the Leafs vs the Bruins.  That game wasn't so great, as the Leafs were pushed around and were never really in the game.  On the Sunday it was the New England Patriots vs the Indianapolis Colts.
In the distance is the Patriots train that we took to Foxboro to watch the game.  It's a direct $15
ride from downtown Boston to the stadium.  About an hour's ride.

A home was on fire just down the street from the rail station and the area was beginning
to fill with smoke.

You gotta go to Cheers, right?  This is the tourist trap Cheers.

"Occupy Harvard" was going on during the time we were there as with the
other "occupy" movements around the world.  The school reacted by closing the grounds
to the public.  This was a letter written in protest to that action.

After the game, we met someone who works for the Bruins.  I believe the Bruins ordered
the most ever copies of their Stanley Cup rings.  I forget his name but this guy worked
in the marketing department dealing with season ticket holders.  He was apprehensive about letting
us handle the ring, but came around.  Pretty cool.

Inside the ring, the engraved logo of all the teams the Bruins beat to win the
Stanley Cup.

Football Trip: Dallas

Football Trip to Dallas

In November of 2010, I went on my first football trip that required air travel.  The goal here is to hopefully have visited every NFL city.

To make the most of it, we try and go to at least two sporting events during our visit.  This trip featured the Dallas Stars vs the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday, and the Dallas Cowboys vs the Detroit Lions on Sunday.  A couple of the guys got to go to a Mavericks game on the Friday night as well.

Last year, before getting any kind of

motorcycle licence or even riding a motorcycle, I decided to go motorcycle shopping.  I had an idea of the style of motorcycle I wanted, but that was about it.  For some reason, I had the fixer-upper bug and wanted something that I could not only ride, but also wrench as well.
